Online Newsletter of the Month
May 2009 Newsletter
The last couple of months have been busy and exciting. Bro. Darrell brought down a load of cushioned pews that the Lake Chapel Church of Talco, TX had donated. My how different the church looks now.
Bro. Zane, Bro. Howe, and other brethren from Florida came our way with funds and energy to build a 9 ft. block wall all around the church property. It sure feels a lot more secure than before. The men are already talking about coming back to do more work in the near future.
Mission Chilarillo now has a roof
Over a year ago, property was acquired in the village of Chilarillo to build a satellite church. Some of the brothers quickly got busy and put in footers and raised some outer walls. Then things came to a halt. There was no money for the cement roof. Recently, with some special offerings, we had the $2,000 needed to take care of the project. At the end of April, we poured the cement roof over the 20' by 40' structure.
Youth Camp Report
A total of 82 young, energetic, fun-loving, excited teens and young singles converged on the campgrounds with another 22 of us more mature christians endeavoring to keep up with them and doing our best to keep them corraled. There was much wholesome fun, fellowship, and food. That is the pentecostal way, isn't it? But best of all, there was glorious singing, anointed preaching, and mighty moves of the Holy Ghost. Only heaven will tell of how many were saved or re-dedicated to the Lord, and others who were baptized in the power of the Holy Spirit. Visitors came from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, from Jalisco, from Dayton, Ohio, from Neosho, MO, and from Dallas, TX. We are so grateful to many of you who sent offerings to offset the cost to the mexican campers. I don't think that anyone had to pay any more than half of the actual cost. What a blessing!
Water Baptisms
Many of the youth prayed through at camp and made real commitments to the Lord. The church had planned to have a baptismal service a week of so after camp with about 6 candidates. The number kept growing, and on Sunday, April 26, we baptized a total of 13 teenagers and one adult for the glory of God.
